ARENA Funding EV Chargers Recipient Installation Update
Quality Energy is delighted to partner with Chargefox to install DC EV chargers in five locations across South Australia, under the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) funding program. We are excited to share the progress of this project with you and provide some updates on the installation of electric vehicle charging stations that were awarded to the program recipients.
1. Gawler Homemaker Centre - Evanston, SA
Quality Energy installed a 120kW three-phase EV charger and switchboard at Gawler shopping centre, a busy hub for Evanston SA residents' weekly essential shopping.
We carefully considered the most effective way to carry out civil works to avoid any inconvenience to the ongoing services and operations of the centre. We opted for the hydro excavation during installation to minimise harm to existing services. Moreover, we carried out the required MSB work outside regular business hours to avoid interfering with the shopping centre's operating hours.
2. Moana Heights Shopping Centre - Moana, SA
We replicated our successful EV charger installation at Gawler Homemaker Centre by implementing a similar strategy at Moana Heights Shopping Centre. Before the installation, we conducted a site inspection to evaluate the location's suitability. Based on the feasibility study and site inspection, we installed a 120kW three-phase EV charger on-site. Any hydro excavation and MSB work were scheduled after business hours to avoid damaging existing infrastructure and minimise disruption to the centre's operating hours.
3. Newton Shopping Centre - Newton, SA
Recently, Quality Energy installed a 120kW Kempower EV charger at the Newton Shopping Centre. We also installed a distribution board to efficiently manage the added load from the EV charger. The electrical work was completed outside of business hours to avoid disturbing the shopping centre's operations, similar to what was done at Moana Heights Shopping Centre and Gawler Shopping Centre. We chose to use hydro excavation to minimise the damage to existing services.
