Quality Energy recognises that modern slavery, as defined under the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) (The “Act”) is a violation of fundamental human rights and is the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. Quality Energy recognises that it is a growing and complex problem, and it is committed to respecting and supporting the dignity, well-being and human rights of its employees and those it engages through its supply chain.
This policy affirms Quality Energy’s commitment and outlines its approach to reducing the risk of modern slavery practices within its supply chains and operations.
Modern slavery is defined by the Modern Slavery Act (Cth) 2018 (Part 1, Section 4) to include eight types of serious exploitations and which can be understood as: trafficking in persons, slavery, servitude, forced labour, forced marriage, debt bondage, the worst forms of child labour, deceptive recruiting for labour or services. These practices are an abuse of human rights and serious crimes.
Quality Energy will work proactively to reduce modern slavery within our supply chains and operations, and we expect all organisations we engage with to do the same. If the policy is breached, we will act as quickly as practicable to remedy the impact on workers, individuals or communities.
We encourage all those working on Quality Energy’s behalf to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this Policy.
If you have any questions regarding this Policy, or if you would like to request a copy of our Modern Slavery Statement, please contact us.
