The Problem
The building owner of 150 Lonsdale Street requested a quote for a commercial solar system from Prolux Electrical, who manage the building's electrical maintenance.
As the trusted commercial solar partner to Prolux Electrical, Quality Energy provided a quote and won the contract to design and install a system to maximise generation over two levels.
Installing solar on this skyrise building in the CBD posed some challenges including requiring a slab scan, employing an asbestos specialist to drill the roof and a hygenist for background air monitoring, waterproofing and avoiding installation over the many anchor points, as well as carrying the equipment from level 29 to levels 31 and 32 for installation.
The Solution
A 55kW commercial solar PV system consisting of 125 x 440W Risen Energy N-Type panels, optimised to mitigate shading in winter and maximise capacity in summer, and 1 x 50kW Sungrow inverter was installed over two levels at the top of the building.
