The Problem
Prolux Electrical manage the electrical building maintenance at a high-rise in Melbourne's CBD. When the building owner requested a quote for a commercial solar system, Prolux turned to Quality Energy, their trusted partner in commercial solar, to provide a tailored proposal.
Installing solar on a high-rise building comes with unique challenges. Strict wind zone regulations required greater clearance from the edge, limiting available space, a specialised external contracor needed to be engaged to install custom rails to support the solar panels and, as the internal lift only went to level 28, equipment had to be carried via the stairs to level 30.
The Solution
A 66.12kW commercial solar PV system consisting of 148 x 44W Risen Energy N-Type panels with SolarEdge optimisers to mitigate shading in winter and maximise generation in summer, and 2 x 30kW SolarEdge inverters were installed.
