The Problem
Staff at this global manufacturing company had nowhere to charge their electric vehicles at their head office in Southbank, Melbourne.
They approached ChargeHub for the infrastructure solution and ChargeHub approached Quality Energy to install the EV chargers.
Challenges were many and included working with the Building Manager to obtain approval for the installation, ensuring the switchboard had the electrical capacity to support powering the EV chargers, working outside office hours to minimise disruption to all tenants in the building and avoiding peak traffic periods, then running the cabling in a straight route from the level 8 tenancy switchboard to the car park on the ground floor.
For insurance and safety purposes, the client requested integration into the fire system after the chargers were installed. This was done through a shunt trip relay that trips in the event of a fire.
The Solution
Quality Energy installed 3 x AC 22kW EVBox BusinessLine EV chargers in the car park on the ground floor at Freshwater Place and connected them to the ChargeHub software.
