The Problem
An existing aged power factor correction unit was in poor condition and not performing as expected, resulting in high demand charges appearing on the electricity bill. The manufacturer's electricity retailer contacted Quality Energy to provide a solution.
The Solution
Quality Energy obtained data for analysis and determined that a new 150kVAr Power Factor Correction unit would be needed to replace the existing unit. The new PFC unit had to be designed and manufactured a little differently to allow for connection on the bottom right of the unit.
